There are a lot of different options out there when it comes to the ways in which homeowners may choose to heat their homes these days. Sure, summers are a lot more intense around here than winters are in terms of extreme weather. Our mild winter weather, however, should not imply that your home heating system is any less important than your AC. But here's a thought.
Why not roll your heating and air conditioning system into one?
If you are thinking about replacing an old, inefficient heater, or if your heater has broken down on you and left you no alternative other than to replace it entirely, then this is the post for you. It is true that heat pumps are getting more and more popular among homeowners these days, but too many people still overlook them, sticking to more traditional heating systems. No more, we say! Read on to learn more about all that heat pumps have to offer, and leave your heat pump services in Temple,Tx., to us.
Because heat pumps don't heat homes in the traditional way of generating new heat. Instead, they use a refrigerant cycle strikingly similar to that of a central air conditioner in order to transfer existing heat into homes. In fact, the heat pump is able to reverse its refrigerant cycle in order to offer both effective cooling and highly efficient heating.
In the summer, the heat pump will evaporate refrigerant in the indoor evaporator coil. That draws heat out of the air outside. Then, that refrigerant is condensed outdoors. This releases the heat. Do you see where this is going?
The heat pump has a component called a reversing valve, which allows it to reverse the direction in which its refrigerant flows and to essentially flip the operation of its coils. When in its heating mode, the heat pump will evaporate refrigerant outdoors. That draws heat out of the air outside, which means that our mild winters are ideal for this type of heating. That refrigerant is compressed to boost its thermal energy, and it is then condensed in the indoor coil to release its heat. Only a small amount of electricity is used in this process, making the system incredibly efficient.
A heat pump works all year long, so you'll want to have it tuned up twice. Once for the heating season, and once for the cooling season. One system does not mean one tune-up!
We will size your heat pump appropriately for your home, and we will install it properly every step of the way. Our tune-ups will keep it functioning reliably for as long as possible, but remember that no system is perfect. You'll need repairs eventually, and we're the pros to schedule them with when that time comes.
