- Ensure the vents in your house are unobstructed, allowing heat to flow freely throughout the house. Vacuum dust and debris from the vents. Blocked vents make the heater work harder, driving up the bill and can result in an overheated furnace.
- Make sure the thermostat is working correctly. Turn on the heat at the thermostat and see what happens.
